Our Story
Passion for jewellery and admiration for chunky elements is what brought our founder Mrs. Surabhi Didwania to launch Motifs in 2013. Guided by a traditional yet dramatic sensibility, her love for jewellery can be traced back to her childhood, growing up in the sleepy yet beautiful hills of Kurseong, near Darjeeling. Cascading waterfalls, lush green valleys, chirping birds and exotic flowers made up her daily vistas, the memory of which she taps into with creations that are a generous nod towards nature. We combine these elements with the essence of glorious Indian heritage, reinterpreting traditional Indian jewellery with her signature aesthetic to appeal to the modern-day admirer.
In recent years, Motifs has been part of numerous exhibitions and collaborations, has been featured in The Adorn Magazine as one of India’s leading silver jewellery houses, and has made a standing in the industry. Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Konkona Sen, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu and Warina Hussain have been spotted carrying our creations in style.

Craftsmanship
The hallmark of every creation is its meticulous craftsmanship and acute focus on customisation to cater to the varied tastes and needs of its clients. Quality and tribalism are the core attributes of Motifs, from finishing the handcrafted pieces to the purchase experience.
From the initial inspiration to the final piece, our jewellery is created on-site. We ensure that every single piece is finished to the highest standard, and welcome you to be a part of the creative process. Beyond crafting bespoke jewellery and statement-makers that tell a story of their own, we can also restore or reconstruct your treasured pieces, re-use elements from your heirlooms and freshen them up for the coming generations. Hold on to the original sentiment without compromising on appearance – all done to your specification.
